LA Proposes Prostitution Constitutional Amendment

In a ploy to try and defeat U.S. Senator David Vitter who is alleged to have hired (adult) prostitutes, a LA state constitutional amendment goes to voters it seems, to remind them of his activities.

The prostitution amendment declares "that “prostitution shall be suppressed by the Legislature” and that “no law shall be enacted to legalize or legitimize prostitution. Prostitution is a vice and is not a victimless crime,” the proposed amendment states. Prostitution is already illegal in Louisiana by statute but is not mentioned in the state constitution

Rosalind Jones who proposed the amendment says she introduced it because “I'm aware we've had some issues with little girls getting involved in prostitution,” she said.
